The Swiss Chalet was built over 100 years ago and
is part of the beautiful Ballamoar Castle Estate in the Isle of Man. A
beautiful self catering retreat, The Swiss Chalet can accommodate up to
8 guests. Children and pets are very welcome. We also have bicyles for
you to use to tour the local countryside.
Ballamoar lies on the Northern plains of the Island, 6 miles from Ramsey
and 17 miles from Douglas, the capital. This is a super location for families
who enjoy the peace, quietness and tranquility of the countryside. Guests
at The Swiss Chalet are welcome to walk in the grounds and woods of Ballamoar
Castle and take in some of the extremely rare species of plants and trees
- many being over 200 years old. Maybe enjoy watching the bird life including
herons.
Close by are the lovely sandy beaches of the Island's Western coast. Twenty
minutes away is the historic old city of Peel. Even closer is the extensive
Curraghs Wildlife Park - full of exotic animals and birds only 2 miles
away is Close Sartfield Nature Reserve and hide. A most peaceful afternoon
or evening can be spent here.
